This episode of Voyage of Rediscovery features Tara Hohenberger.

Tara attended the University of Colorado, Boulder, and her hometown is Bohemia, New York.

Tara has always had a strong desire to go out and see the world, and she’s been seeing it ever since her voyage on Semester at Sea. She speaks with us from Mexico City, where she now calls home, and tells us of the country that really stole her heart. She also touches on how isolation—or, more directly, the absence of technology—really allows people to be in the moment.

Hop on board everyone, the ship is leaving.

Additional notes

Please excuse the quality of the footage of Tara. The technology we used to record our conversation compressed the final product. We attempted to improve the output in post-production as best we could. Portions featuring Alexander Kotler were recorded locally, via webcam, which resulted in a higher resolution recording.

This program also includes limited scenes from the original Fall 1998 participant video, photographed and edited by Skye Fitzgerald and executive produced by Marlin Darrah.
